Pinoypoets, in partnership with Anvil Publishing and Powerbooks, presented "Desire and Doom in Philippine Gay Poetry," a lecture by gay rights activist and poet Danton Remoto. This was held on April 25, 2009, 2PM at Powerbooks Megamall, was free and open to the public. This event was the second of a series of lectures in celebration of Pinoypoets' fifth anniversary.  The third lecture, to feature poet-performer Angelo Suarez, has been slated in August 2009.
